CSFM is an innovative method implemented in IDEA StatiCa Concrete used for the design of reinforced concrete structures. Let’s take a look behind the scene of our software and see for yourselves that there is no need to be afraid of using CSFM calculations in your projects.

Join the webinar and learn about

  • New CSFM technology
  • Reference example
  • Theory of CSFM
  • Results interpretation
  • ULS and SLS checks
  • Comparison of CSFM results to the different methods (STM)

Join the webinar where the focus will be centered on the theory of the method which hides under the name CSFM (Compatible Stress Field Method). The problem of the design of reinforced concrete structures will open the webinar, then the basic assumptions of the method will be introduced, and the types of reinforced concrete structures suitable for this method will be discussed. Afterward, we proceed to a practical example which we use to explain the principles of the analysis and checks of the reinforced concrete structure via CSFM. As a reference example, a reinforced concrete wall with an opening, loaded by a concentrated force located on its upper edge, was selected. Many of you have encountered this example when a strut and tie method (STM) is taught. And the STM results will be compared to ones obtained from the CSFM.

CSFM offers much more than just ULS checks. The advanced state of the method is based on modified compression field theory, implementation of tension stiffening, and distinguishing between stabilized or non-stabilized cracking; hence we perform SLS checks of the concrete wall. Thus, we can observe crack width, deformation, and stresses corresponding to SLS combinations.

Compatible Stress Field Method (CSFM), a new method, enabling a sophisticated reinforced concrete design according to the codes.
