Semi-rigid platform connection transferring shear force and bending moment. The perpendicular horizontal steel rolled I-section beam is connected to the main I-section beam using bolted endplates. On the side of the beam, the endplate is welded to the beam's flanges. To increase the stiffness of the connection, the bracing is welded to the main beam. The main beam is connected to the top edge of the column using bolted endplates with stiffening members to overcome the gap between the members. Modeled in the IDEA StatiCa Connection application.
